Tennessee Vacation

We arrived at our condo in Pigeon Forge, TN on Friday, August 6th. We met my mom and dad, Kenny and Sharron and Autumn there. The condo was very nice, a stand-alone, so only 4 stairs! Yea!

The condominium complex was very pretty. Here is the view from the complex:

Just a random photo of Autumn. Those eyes!!

The girls had so much fun in the pool. And look at that view behind the pool!

On Saturday, August 7th, we went ziplining!

Woo, hoo, look at me go!

Vivian is the bravest 6 year old I know!

On Sunday the boys played golf and the girls went exploring in the Smokey Mountains.

Just a pretty photo of my girl!

Someone had the bright idea of hiking 1.3 miles up a mountain to see a waterfall. Here are Vivian and Autumn just before our hike. The smiles weren't so abundent afterwards!

It was hot and it was long but we all made it to the top, including Granny Pat. Here we are standing in front of the trickle of a water fall. Not what we were expecting at all, but we were triumphant in our achievement in making it to the top!

Later in the day, Vivian and I went exploring looking for the perfect family photo spot. I managed to get these lovely photos of Vivian by the beautiful babbling brook that runs through the smoky mountains.

The next day was Dollywood! It was very hot, but the park was not too crowded and we had lots of fun!

The next day we took the trolly to Gatlinburg for the day. Here are Rick and Vivian waiting for the trolley:

and posing in scuba gear.

Beautiful smile from Autumn!

The town of Gatlinburg is very pretty with lots of shopping!

I went up in the space needle and took this photos of the town.

Gatlinburg was filled with beautiful flowers:

Next it was up the arial tram to Ober Gatlinburg, an amusement park up the mountain. The ride up was fun with beautiful scenery:

At the top, you could take a ski lift further up the mountain to ride down this alpine sled.

Here are Rick and Vivian going down the mountain in the sled. Moments later, they crashed their sled. Fortunately, no serious injuries.

Here is the injury report: Big ole strawberry on the forehead, nose, elbow and knee!

Rick was pretty banged up too with numerous skinned places on his arms and legs.

Fortunately, no serious injuries, and I captured this beautiful photo of the sun peeking out from behind the clouds on our way home.

The next day, mom and I explored the mountains while the kids enjoyed another day at Dollywood. The babbling brook as we call it, was so beautiful and we took tons of pictures. We searched for and found several locations for our family photo to take place the next day.

We also went to a place called Cades Cove with beautiful scenery.

We also saw lots of bears! This momma bear had gone up a tree after her two cubs!

Mom at Cades Cove:

When we got home that evening we went out to dinner. This photo was taken at a local restauarant with a beautiful waterfall.

On Thursday, we went back into the mountains for our family photos and got some great pictures!

We spent the rest of the day sight seeing in the mountains and playing in the stream:

We also went back to Cades Cove for more beautiful scenery.

And more bears!

It was a great family vacation!
