Springtime in East Texas
Springtime in East Texas is my absolute favorite time of year. I love to see the azaleas blooming and have timed many a vacation in an attempt to see the azaleas in bloom. I got a day by day report from my mom on the status of her azaleas before our trip to East Texas this weekend as we wanted to photograph Vivian in the azaleas.
Here are a few of Vivian in her Easter dress. She was so excited once she got it on that it was hard to get her to stand still for any pictures. I thought she looked beautiful in it.

Here's a few others we took in yet another outfit.

Me and Vivian

Vivian with her great-grandma Patsy. We've been trying to come up with a name for Vivian to call my mom for sometime but nothing seemed to stick. Mom just kept saying to call her Pat, but I wanted a name. This weekend Rae suggested Granpat and I suggested Pitipat (remember Aunt Pitipat from Gone with the Wind?). The next day, I told Vivian to go give something to Granpat and she said "Pitipat?" When I was looking through these pictures back at home, Vivian pointed and said "Pitipat". So, much to mom's chagrin, I believe Pitipat is here to stay! LOL!

My mom's azalea bush is one of the most spectacular in East Texas. It wasn't quite in full bloom, but it was still a sight to behold. It was probably planted about 30 years ago or more. I'm going to have to look through old family photos to see if I can find one when it was first planted and get the exact date. You can tell how large it really is when you see Vivian standing next to it (see her over there to the right?)
